Activision and co. has been finishing up work on Modern Warfare 3 Content Season that’s still going on until next month. Activision and co. recently released Chaos Pack to PS3 and PC owners. Recently, Infinity Ward released some news: Modern Warfare 3′s Content Collection 4 “Final Assault” will arrive to PS3 and PC owners on October 10th. The final Content Collection will feature…
Multiplayer:
Decommission
Parish
Off Shore
Gulch
Boardwalk
However, Call of Duty Elite subscribers can get the new maps early, on October 9th. The Elite Content Drops are Parish, Boardwalk, and Gulch. I must remind you, that this is the final content drop to be released to Modern Warfare 3. This is it, Content Season ends on October 10th, 2012.
If you’d like to know how I felt about all of the maps that have been released thus far, here they are: First Drops Piazza and Liberation, and Second Drops Overwatch, Black Box, Black Ice, and Negotiator. I have recently released my impressions of the Third Drops Foundation and Sanctuary. Fourth Drops Face Off maps. Fifth Drops U-Turn, Intersection, Vortex, and Arctic Recon. Sixth Drops Terminal, Off Shore, Decommission, and Vertigo. Seventh Drops Light ‘em Up, Special Delivery, and Spec Ops Chaos Mode.
Beachhead Studios recently released Content Collection 1 on Xbox Live. Shortly thereafter, Activision, and Sledgehammer Games held an event to promote Call of Duty: MW3′s Content Collection 1. The event featured NFL football players and ahem, Major Nelson was on hand to help ask NFL players questions about what they thought about MW3 and Content Collection in general. The video was published on Inside Xbox.
At Activision’s event in Los Angeles, Xbox Live’s Major Nelson interviewed Ahmad Bradshaw, a New York Giants player. NY Giants won the Super Bowl this year, so it’s a pretty big deal what he says. Anyway, let’s cut to the chase, shall we?
You can get the 6 maps from Xbox Live now. PS3 and PC gamers are going to have to wait for this collection to really enjoy it.
Activision & Beachhead Studios kicked off the Content Season in January. The first Content Drops were “Liberation” and “Piazza.” In February, the second Content Drop called “Overwatch” was released. A week ago, a trio of maps were released. They are called “Black Box,” a Multiplayer map, and two Spec Ops maps “Black Ice,” and “Negotiator.” All of these Content Drops so far have been released to Call of Duty Elite members, but what about those who don’t have a Call of Duty Elite subscription? Well, Activision is answering that question with a map pack of sorts.
On March 20th, which should be by the time you read this. You can purchase the Content Collection 1 on Xbox Live, and it’s being hailed as the “biggest Content Pack in Call of Duty history.” As you recall, COD4′s Variety Pack featured 4 maps, while most of MW2′s map packs had 5 maps each. Both MW2 map packs featured at least 2 re-made maps. This Content Collection of maps is full of fresh content.
Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games, and Raven Software talked about the Content Collection in their behind-the-scenes look at the package.
Shortly thereafter, Activision released a video showing off the contents of MW3 Collection 1. Enjoy!
Sorry, PlayStation 3 and PC gamers you’re going to have to wait a while for this content to arrive to your device.
Beachhead Studios has been on a roll lately with content drops as of late. In January, Beachhead released the first content drop called “Liberation,” and “Piazza.” Then in February, they dropped the second downloadable content. Recently, Activision released teasers for the third content drop called “Black Box”, and two Special Ops content drops called “Black Ice,” and “Negotiator.” This set of Elite Content Drops are headed to Xbox Live first on March 13th.
But, what about PlayStation 3 owners? Well, Activision recently dropped an e-mail to all Call of Duty Elite members saying that the Overwatch will arrive to PSN on March 29th. Not only that, MP1st got their hands on some juicy details about when Black Box and the Spec Ops missions would arrive for PS3 owners with a Call of Duty Elite subscription. MP1st said it would arrive around April 12th, if the [second] screencap mistake is anything to go by, that 4/12 date may not be the actual date. But it pinpoints when we can expect it.
I would like to point out that the content season will continue until the year is through:
January: Two Multiplayer maps
February: New map
March: New map, two new Spec Ops missions
April: Two new maps
May: New map, new Spec Ops mission
June: New map, new Spec Ops mission, new game mode
July: Two new maps
August: New map, new Spec Ops mission, new game mode
September: New map, new Spec Ops mission
If you’d like to know what I thought of the first two content drops “Liberation,” and “Piazza” head on over to this article I did.
“The vet and the n00b” is a series of Live-Action videos that documents why it’s a better idea to be positioned as a vet. The first video has been aired on television since the Modern Warfare 3 launch on November 8th this year. However, Activision had nip the hilarious parts of the series from the airwaves. Instead, they posted it online for you to enjoy!
Introducing the trash talk segment of “the vet and the n00b” where the n00b tries to school the vet. And wins a silence. *Crickets*
In the next one, the vet and the n00b tries to battle against the legion of Call of Duty players until…..
….Awe. Man! Couldn’t Activision solve the host problem in there!? Gah! Frustrating!
Modern Warfare 3 was released worldwide on November 8th with record-shattering numbers. Activision then released numbers for the first week. They took in 775 million dollars at retail, then they revealed that they have one million Call of Duty Elite subscribers. [source] Now, Activision wants more.
Today, Activision released a trailer called “Play Together Better” to recruit more Call of Duty Elite members into the social network.
The video talks up the features of Call of Duty Elite, and in a subtle way, they advertised the competitions. You can win a trip to Paris, and other countries. See for yourself:
Are you going to join up on Call of Duty Elite? If not, why not? Tell us in the comments!
A lot of First Person Shooters have had many game modes to choose from, and most of them sacrifice a lot of the modes for space limitations in discs. Some companies even sacrifice variety in game modes for innovative game modes. Modern Warfare 3 seems to take the best of two worlds and created a game that benefits everyone.
Kill Confirmed was a mode revealed and highlighted at CODXP 2011. With the Kill Confirmed mode, your objective is to collect the dog tag from enemies you kill, or your allies’ dog tag. The game ends when the maximum number of dogtags have been collected – either collectively as a team, or via a single player.
Team Defender is a brand-new take on Capture the Flag mode. In Team Defender, the objective is to “dominate” that flag for as long as you can for the duration of the game. The longer that you hold the flag, the more points you and your team earn. But if you or that person dies, the flag is dropped. The team that reaches the set amount of points wins.
The Vault is a feature in Call of Duty Elite, not a mode in MW3. It is a place where you can upload your content for others to download. In the vault, you can upload your custom game modes. Yup, you can upload and download game modes now!
Other game modes include Black Ops’ Gun Game, and One in the Chamber have been added to Modern Warfare 3.
And as you can see in the video, there are some new camouflages for you to unlock in the game. So far, these are the confirmed camos that you can unlock in MW3:
Classic
Snow
Multicam
Digital Urban
Hex
Choco
Snake
Blue
Red
Autumn
And of course: Gold
They can be unlocked via either weapons leveling, or via weapon proficiencies.
Modern Warfare 3 is just mere weeks away from release! Since Battlefield 3 releases October 25th, Activision has been preparing for war. Activision used this weekend to start advertising MW3 across the nation and even the world. The new video released on the Call of Duty youtube is the one you’ll be seeing on TV. Enjoy, because Modern Warfare 3 will ship to retail shelves on November 8th, that’s two whole weeks of waiting for the rest of you! But don’t fret, we’re going to start seeing a lot of leaks on the days before the MW3 launch. Lots. So, that’ll mean INFORMATION!

Call of Duty XP is over now, but content from the event doesn’t seem to stop. Everyone wants to find out more about the Multiplayer aspect of Modern Warfare 3.
I posted Separate Multiplayer Briefing videos and recapped what was revealed during CODXP. But for some reason, Activision thought it would be nice to release a full-length recap of the whole briefing. For those of you who want to see the video in it’s entirety…
We still have more Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 information to come.
At Call of Duty XP, Eric Hirshberg, the new C.E.O. of Activision kicked off the event and talked about multiple topics. Eric welcomed the Call of Duty fans to CODXP 2011, he discussed where the money gathered from Call of Duty XP attendees will be going – the Call of Duty Endowment, which is a non-profit charity to help former, on-duty, or after-duty military personnel find jobs in today’s economy. He talked up about how Call of Duty fans play a role in bringing about record-breaking sales with their passion surrounding Call of Duty. He also revealed that the one million dollar tournament is going to pit pros against G.I. Joes. Finally, he unveiled the fan-made sequel to Find Makarov [movie here] called Operation KingFish. We’ve got to find Makarov! And soon!
If you’ve seen the Multiplayer reveal last week shortly before Call of Duty XP went live, then you’ve already seen the following….
Next up, Robert Bowling, and Michael Condrey, the co-founder of Sledgehammer Games talked up how the teams at Infinity Ward, and Sledgehammer Games have taken Call of Duty fans’ feedback and try to make MW3 a great game it is shaping up to be.

Michael talks up weapon proficiencies which allows you to upgrade your weapons, and these proficiencies are like perks for your own weapons such as [2] attachments, reduced recoil, and so on.
They also showed off detailed matchtype options – possibly for private lobbies
